kids bathroom decorDecorate a Kid’s Bathroom – Different Ideas

By Ian MckIntosh

Do not take your kid’s bathroom for granted. It is one of the most difficult things to take care of. This is one such room in your house, which is used the most. Parents of kids try to decorate their bathroom all by themselves, which shows the generation gap. Children rarely appreciate this.

Know whom you are decorating for: First thing. For whom are you decorating the bathroom? Is it your son? If you know his interests, it will help you decorate it in the right way. Cars, bugs etc. are the things boys love. So see to it what he loves. If the kid is your daughter, a girl may have a different taste, which your son may not like. In short, how you decorate your kid’s bathroom depends on what the gender of the child is.

Accessories and Decorations: Accessories depends on what your kid loves. If your kid likes cars, you can buy towels and curtains that have pictures of cars or world famous racing car drivers on them. Children generally like cartoons. Therefore, you can have rugs of Disney cartoons, Tom and Jerry, Ben Ten or paste pictures on walls. Tumblers of various shapes are a thing of attraction for kids. A dinosaur shaped tumbler may go well with a boy. Girls by nature love to look good. Therefore, she would like a tumbler of a lovely delicate looking princess. Other things like soap, soap holders of various shapes are also available. Among other things, you can also pay attention to minute details like basket handles, soap dishes, knob of the cabinet or drawer, tissue dispenser where all these can be decorated. You can buy rubber faces of famous cartoon character or plastic animals or clowns as your kid would like.

Growing Bathroom with Growing Child: Remember one thing though. Not all this is going to stay on for eternity. One day your child is going to grow older and with the passage of time, he will start taking lesser interest in the clown faces or rubber animals. With age, the interests and love change. The above-described accessories, decorations will fade away, and something new will take its place. Things like basket handles, soap dishes, bathmats, cabinet or drawer knobs, tissue dispenser, and curtains can easily be replaced according to the new tastes of your children. Keeping this in mind, never decorate the bathroom with accessories that will become difficult to replace after some years. For example, a wallpaper or towel with a cartoon face will attract your kid’s attention until he is only a kid. Once he is old enough, he will naturally get less interested in it. Any ways, a towel will get dirty and is liable to wear and tear and you would have either ways changed it. However, wallpaper even if intact, cannot be replaced as easily as a towel.

Finally, these are just ideas. Decorating your kid’s bathroom remains limited by not being able to imagine. If you know your child’s interests, you can easily pick the best accessory. That will surely bring a smile on his or her innocent face.

By Thomas Johnsen

Several folks are constantly shopping for bathroom accessories set. Since those are used very much often, they tend to wear out easily. If it’s the children using those items the chances of buying new accessories is surely higher than the average.

Different people go for different bathroom accessories sets. Some would go for chrome bathroom accessories while others try the ceramic and ginger ones. If you have a thing with designer types that come from famous manufacturers and sellers and you have the budget for those, then go for it. Otherwise, those cheap alternatives and bath accessories that are on discount rates are still great choices especially if they are as functional as the pricey ones.

You know that an accessory for your bathroom doesn’t have to be expensive to get the wonderful design that you want. There are still a lot of affordable ones out there. Just keep on looking. You can add to your scouring the many available themes of kids bathroom accessories that you and your kids can choose from.

Most people go with the safari theme to have that jungle and wilderness effect in their children’s bathroom. Kids just love animals and toys of that sort. Having shower curtains, tumblers, soap dishes and wastebaskets with animal designs like birds, elephants, tigers, dogs, insects, etc. will help your child enjoy their bath. Perhaps the most popular animal bath accessory and the all-time favorite of kids is the yellow rubber duck.

If you decided to go for a Disney theme, then that’s fine. For girls, you can have pink bathroom accessories bearing designs of their best-loved princesses. For the boys, you can have accessories accentuated and inspired by Disney movies like Cars, Toy Story, and Wall-E.

You can also opt to have a rustic or cowboy theme. This is best for boys but can also work well with female children. Another neutral theme is nature. This may be a bit different with the safari theme especially if you are focusing more on other elements such as clouds, flowers and plants.

Cartoon characters and superheroes are children’s weaknesses as well. Purchasing kids bathroom accessories with those themes will lessen the trouble that you as a parent might endure whenever it’s time for your kids’ bath. If you can get them interested with their bathroom accessories and they like the look and feel of their bathroom, chances are they will brush their teeth, wash their hands and clean themselves without being told. It’s quite a small step to being responsible that will benefit you and your kids too.

kids bathroom accessoriesDecorating Tips For Kids Bathrooms

By Ronny Peterson

There are a few simple guidelines that can be used to give a new, vibrant look to your kids bathroom. The most important thing to consider while going about this process is to take into account your kids’ likes, dislikes, tastes and preferences. It is vital to include their inputs so that they are happy and satisfied with the final look of their bathroom. There are lots of ways to decorate your children’s bathroom.

1) If the bathroom you are decorating is meant for a girl, feminine colours like light pink, mauve and purple can be used. They are sure to catch her attention and make her feel like a princess. Soft, pastel shades enhance the look of a girl’s bathroom. The wallpaper can be in floral prints and if you choose to go for paint on the walls, different textures that are a combination of different colours like pink and white or red and white can be used. This surely can appeal to her imagination. Everything, from the doormats to the bathtub can be in different shades of pink. This will enable the bathroom to look beautiful and stunning.

2) If you are decorating a bathroom for your boy, blue is usually the most preferred colour. The ceiling can be made to look like a sky with a light blue colour that is painted with white clouds. The wallpaper can also be in different geometric designs made up of shades of blue.

3) You should talk to your kid and ask him/her about their preferences relating to a particular cartoon or movie. You can choose a character they like and get it printed on one wall in the bathroom with the other walls being off white. This can become the focal point of the bathroom and help to make it look pleasing. Moreover, your kid will love to spend time here with their favourite cartoon character peeking out from the wall.

4) If the bathroom is meant for shared use by children of both genders, you should go in for neutral colours that are neither too feminine, nor too masculine. The best colour choices here include different shades of orange, yellow, purple and green.

5) Apart from changing major things like wall paint and wallpaper, you may also enhance the look of a bathroom by choosing a particular theme and then placing objects of practical use in the bathroom that pertain to this theme. For example, the toothbrush holder can be in the shape of a particular cartoon character whose theme you may have chosen. Even the knobs on the doors can be of the same theme. You can also make this theme visible by using suitable rugs, door mats and lighting. The towels can feature the paintings of the same.

6) Curtains are an important feature of any part of the house and this holds true for bathrooms too. Curtains that are made up of plastic and have a playful and fun design showcased on them can be put up.
